George Cleveland is one of the most famous actors in the history of British cinema. He is also known as George Cleveland and later George Cleveland Shuster. He is one of the founding members of the British Film Corporation. His career spanned four decades.

George Cleveland’s parents were not wealthy and as such the family had little money to spare and thus George learned to rely on other people to provide them with food, clothing, shelter and entertainment. George spent most of his early years living with his cousin Wanda Stafford. His family also included his grandmother and older sister Ruth Parry. George spent many summer months at his cousin’s home and the family enjoyed trips to nearby towns such as Salisbury andumberland.
George Cleveland was an avid traveler and therefore spent much time around the coast of the country and in the larger cities of New York, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Boston. George spent considerable time studying the life of American President Thomas Jefferson, whose presidency helped cement the Union into a stronger place after the Civil War ended. The family also spent time in the Deep South as the family made its way through much of the slave trade in the United States. George Cleveland was nominated for the United States President against incumbent Abraham Lincoln and once he was elected he went on to serve two terms.
George Cleveland was married twice before he settled down with his spouse Anna Jarvis in 1885. Anna was the daughter of a wealthy family that owned a flourishing linen business in Charlotte. George and Anna had six children and George died of a broken heart five years later. George Cleveland was an active member of his church until his death at 71 years of age.
